The wheel of the year has turned again and we are now celebrating the final harvest of the year. It is a time to reflect of what we have, what to reap, and what to discard. At this time of year, I tend to withdraw from the world. I am not sure of the reason but it could be the days getting shorter. It is time to reflect and be thankful. It is also time to honor our ancestors. I honor my maternal grandmother. This year, I have renewed my connection with Lilith. I have rebuilt my altar and cleaned my statues. I am taking time to honor my dark side.
I have a lot to be thankful for this year. I am thankful for discovering I have a brother five months younger than me. In a weird twist of fate, a cousin contacted me to tell me my father had an affair before I was born and I have a brother. We have spent many hours talking on the phone and are planning to meet in a few weeks. I am thankful for my wonderful family. We were able to visit our daughter and her family in Maryland. Our youngest grandson turned one year old and is adorable. Our son from Ohio visited us while we were there and we had a great crab feast. It has been years since we had one.
I want to thank all the authors that have submitted articles over the years. We would not have lasted ten years without you. Working with all of you has been an honor and privilege. To the readers, I thank you for taking time to read each issue. It was nice to know people The Oracle was appreciated.
Blessings to you,
To all the women of the world who read The Oracle …..
It is difficult for me to think this is the last issue of The Oracle. Also, hard to believe it survived for 15 years. When it all started, we were very small. We had great hopes for Global Goddess and for the Oracle. It was a full-blown website – the Oracle, that is. I tried doing it with Microsoft Publisher, then Dream Weaver, and then coded it all myself. It has always been difficult finding women willing to write. Not sure why because goodness knows, we write. I think maybe women don’t have enough confidence in themselves to share what they write with the world.
I do want to thank all the women who have contributed over the years – you have made such a difference with your words.
To those who came along and served as proof readers – thank you. I want to especially thank Christine Hirsch for her contributions with editing and proofing help. She has been so “on it” When word goes out it is ready to be proofed – it is done! Thank you, Christine.
I offered the Oracle by myself for several years and then along came Dawn and she took over the job as Editor of the Oracle and wow – she has done a beautiful job of putting it together, each and every edition, and often writing a lot of it herself. Dawn is a wonder, as she is a wonderful friend. She is my spiritual daughter and I love her very much.
Women – don’t be afraid to write. We have a lot to share with the world. It is imperative that we do it!! So, if you find a venue to share what you have to say – please say it! Words matter!
With that said, let’s put her to bed. May she rest in peace! Samhain Blessings to All!
Much love and many blessings,
Bendis – AKA – Deanne
