We have once again come to a time of balance. Every day we rush around going here and there, doing this and that. We need to take a moment to enjoy the now. On this day of balance, we need to invite it into our lives. Find balance in ourselves and our relationships.
Here in Florida we are on the threshold of spring. Mother Nature has been playing with us making us think spring was here only to blow in the winter winds. In the Imbolc 2014 issue I posted a photo of a Monarch caterpillar still eating away. Unfortunately, the weather turned and froze the night before the butterfly left the chrysalis.
I was surprised when I looked in the afternoon to see it empty. Butterflies always come out in the morning to give themselves enough time for their wings to dry and they can fly.
This little girl came out too late in the day and was damaged. We found her the next day clinging to a grass stem. I brought her in to get her warm and coaxed her to drink sugar water. Today some milkweed bloomed and I brought her to see the flowers. She immediately stuck her tongue into the flower and started sucking. She flaps like she is going somewhere but her wings are deformed having never fully unfurled. She will never truly fly but she falls with style. I will make sure she has the best life she can.
Every morning we should remind ourselves to live each day like it is your last. Do things that make you happy. Spend time with people you like, and most of all be good to yourself. You deserve it.
May you be blessed during this equinox season.
