Welcome to the Feast of the First Fruits!
Now we are feeling the dog days of summer. The days are hot and humid. Here in Florida we have afternoon showers. Some areas have experienced flooding because of the showers that seem to come out of nowhere and leave just as quickly.
As we celebrate the first fruits, the shortening of days even though is subtle is being noticed. I am lucky to have a beautiful blackberry bush that has been providing us with fresh berries every day. The blueberry bushes have stopped producing and are getting thicker. Hopefully next year we will have more berries than we had this year.
As I write this I am preparing for my final exam for my final class and I graduate in a week from the University of Florida. I am fulfilling my lifelong goal of finishing my college education. My daughter and her family came down to see me walk across the stage. In the meantime I did something to my left hand and cannot type. So between Deanne and my granddaughter, they got the Oracle up and running! I am grateful to have them in my life. I certainly have a lot to celebrate along with the first fruits.
Look around your life and be thankful for what you have in your life.
Blessings of the First Harvest,
